As many of you know from being my friends on facebook, we were hit by Hurricane Irene and were without power for 4 days. Thankfully we had a whole house generator which got us through with very little disruption to our daily routine. Others in the neighborhood however were not so lucky. I have created a page titled "How to prepare for Disasters and Emergencies" where I have compiled a list of things you need to do to be ready and some safety tips on using a generator. I hope you will take the time to visit that page and I hope it helps you with your own home and family preparedness list.
I encourage all of you to take the time to look through all the pages on this website and tell your friends to as well. Become informed and prepare for whatever happens. It makes a big difference once it does because once something happens it's too late... you become one of the "others".
Definition of a prepper:
Prepper (noun): An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances or lifestyle without significant reliance on other persons (i.e., being self-reliant), or without substantial assistance from outside resources (govt., etc.) in order to minimize the effects of that change on their current lifestyle.

When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. Benjamin Franklin
Ben Stein believes all of this new money is going to bring about is a situation known as
"stagflation".
Stagflation exists when inflation and unemployment are both at high levels at the same time.
Our founding fathers warned us about this. They warned that when the American people figured out that they could vote themselves money out of the U.S. Treasury it would greatly endanger our republic.
Now, as the U.S. economy continues to decline, we are going to see riots like we have seen in Wisconsin. Once the American people realize that the "good times" are over, all hell is going to break loose. The anger and the frustration of the American people is starting to boil over. Unfortunately, that anger and frustration is focused in 1000 different directions. The ruling elite and the establishment media are constantly encouraging us to hate one another. When the U.S. economy does totally collapse, it is going to make the riots that we have seen in Egypt and throughout the Middle East this year seem tame by comparison. What we are witnessing right now in Wisconsin are just the "birth pains". The American people don't want to "tighten their belts". In fact, most Americans have absolutely no idea what "hard times" even look like. When things go from bad to worse we are going to see temper tantrums in this country like we have never seen before.
So get ready. Unless there is some kind of dramatic transformation in this country, in the years ahead we are going to see some horrific economic riots.
Inflation... Food Shortages... $5.00 a Gallon Gas... Unemployment...
Dr Coburn who sat on the Debt Commission talks about the financial Crisis that the United States is in and is pleading with those involved to pass the bill which would require the Government to accept the Debt Commissions Report and take action to reduce the Debt. The next day the bill was voted down and was NOT approved.
WYOMING ADVANCES ‘DOOMSDAY BILL’ TO HELP RESIDENTS DURING POSSIBLE COLLAPSE
CHEYENNE — Feb 25, 2012: State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.
House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.
The task force would look at the feasibility of Wyoming issuing its own alternative currency, if needed. And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier.
The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. David Miller, R-Riverton, has said he doesn’t anticipate any major crises hitting America anytime soon. But with the national debt exceeding $15 trillion and protest movements growing around the country, Miller said Wyoming — which has a comparatively good economy and sound state finances — needs to make sure it’s protected should any unexpected emergency hit the U.S.
Several House members spoke in favor of the legislation, saying there was no harm in preparing for the worst.
‘I don’t think there’s anyone in this room today what would come up here and say that this country is in good shape, that the world is stable and in good shape — because that is clearly not the case,’ state Rep. Lorraine Quarberg, R-Thermopolis, said. ‘To put your head in the sand and think that nothing bad’s going to happen, and that we have no obligation to the citizens of the state of Wyoming to at least have the discussion, is not healthy.’”
